Now that you have that brand new Intex swimming pool set up in your yard, it’s time to think about how to get the most out of your Intex pool filter and vacuum. Your pool filter works to remove debris from the water such as body oils, lotions, hair and leaves so that you and your family are always able to safely swim in the cleanest and clearest water possible.

While your Intex pool filter is designed to last for many years, it does require a bit of maintenance on your part to ensure that you get the maximum amount of use out of it. You will need to regularly change the Intex pool filter cartridge because when it becomes dirty, the water flow through the pump will be less powerful. You also should check the Intex pool filter hoses for any leaks every few weeks and tighten any lose hose clamps you may find.

Your Intex pool vacuum also should be checked over regularly to make sure there are no holes in the hoses. Take the time to clean the skimmer that came with your Intex pool vacuum by using a high-pressure hose on it every couple of weeks. If your Intex pool vacuum head should crack or break, replace it immediately so that you do not end up scratching or damaging the inside of your swimming pool.
